Spook Fest 2009

Are you ready for some candy? We are! Before the sun sets and the goblins come out, I wanted to show you what's prowling around our house.

I decided only to decorate the front entryway for Halloween this year, mainly because John and I didn't want to be freaked out everytime we walked around our house. This way we only get a little spook when we first walk in the door :)

I grabbed this white skull at the Dollar Store and I'm loving it! His head is hollow and perfect for some candy. John especially liked that part. I put him on top of a stand I already had and found some black books from the bookshelf to elevate him just right. The candlesticks I grabbed at Goodwill for $1.00 each. I love it when it works out perfectly like that.

The bottom display is like a spooky graveyard. The headstones and the cobwebs are from the Dollar Store and I think they add a frightful flare.

For the pictures on the wall, I picked up some old wood frames from Goodwill and then printed out some spooky pictures. When I went to print the pictures, I found out that the printer was running low of black ink. But that didn't stop me! I went ahead and printed out the pictures anyway and I think it turned out fun. This one is of a ghostly figure in the fog.

This one is a cartoon of a spooky house.

And this one is a little more traditional haunted house.

Hope you have a spook-tastic Halloween!

Sometimes it's just nice to gaze upon a beautiful sunset while you're driving down the road.

Drink it, Feel it, Share it

John and I recently discovered Monavie....a great juice that improves your health and your wealth. Since we both started drinking Monavie, we have experienced more energy throughout the day, we sleep better at night and just feel better all around. Monavie is a blend of 19 different fruits, including the acai berry. Just 4 oz everyday provides your body with antioxidants and vitamins that it needs to stay healthy.

In addition to helping improve your health, Monavie can also improve your wealth. Monavie is only available through independent distributors and YOU could be one of them, just like us. For more information on how Monavie can help you feel better and put a little cash in your wallet, visit http://www.drinkitwithme.com/.

Monavie started the M.O.R.E. project which helps provide shelter, food, clothing and education to orphans in Brazil and Mexico. It is really amazing to be part of an organization that makes it a priority to help underprivileged children with the necessities of life. A percentage of each Monavie bottle sold helps fund the M.O.R.E. project. Join with us to help the orphans of Brazil and Mexico.

Email me at jackiedodson24@gmail.com if you're interested in joining together with John and I to help others experience better health and better wealth. We really believe that Monavie will make a difference in people's lives.

It's Official!

Layla is ours! We signed the adoption papers yesterday. Even though Layla doesn't know the difference, she's here to stay.

Do you see a theme? Yep, Layla loves pillows. Hard, soft, doesn't matter, she loves it and wants to claim it as her own.

But just look at this face...

She has won our hearts!

Halloween Decor

This year I decided to decorate our entryway for Halloween. John is being such a sport about it...thank you darling! I found some old frames at Goodwill and have been scouring for pictures to put in them. I wanted spooky but not "AH I'm going to pee my pants every time I walk in the door" scary. Here's what we found. I'm printing them in black/white & gray to keep it more monochrome and thus more spooky. Oooooo can't wait to hang them up!
